Good to know before you get started
Here are five common questions about VCE Pilot. For a particular result, the methods and source notes explain what each calculator can and cannot show.
1. Is VCE Pilot free, and do I need an account?
All current study tools are free, with no signup or payment needed. The Buy me a coffee button is optional support; it does not unlock extra results or premium access. A paid tier is not available in this release.
2. Can the calculators tell me my exact final ATAR or study score?
No. The ATAR calculator explores historical scaling and aggregate tables. The study score explorer uses historical assessment distributions and stated assumptions; its range is not a validated forecast or confidence interval. Final outcomes depend on official assessment, moderation and statewide ranking. Use the numbers for scenarios and check important decisions with your school, VCAA or VTAC.
3. Where are my saved scenarios and study plans stored?
They stay in this browser on this device. They do not sync to an account, and someone sharing your browser profile may see them. Browser settings can also remove them. The privacy page has a button to delete saved study data while keeping your privacy choice. Save a separate copy of anything important.
4. Can I use the website without allowing analytics?
Yes. “Essential only” keeps every study tool available. Cloudflare Web Analytics loads only if you opt in; you can change that choice using Privacy settings in the footer. Essential hosting and security still apply. Advertising is currently disabled while its approval and consent setup are pending.
5. How do I report a problem, and when will you reply?
Use the contact form or email contact@vcepilot.fyi. Include the page, what happened and what you expected; leave out passwords and student numbers. We aim to reply within 2 business days: Monday–Friday, Melbourne time, excluding Victorian public holidays. Busy periods may take longer; this is a response target, not a guaranteed resolution deadline.
If you follow up, include the form reference or original email thread so we can connect the messages. Official assessment and admissions questions should go to your school or the relevant authority.
